It’s not about time management
It is not about time, it is about your chosen priorities.
Every day we each have 24 hours.
What you choose to do with those 24 hours is your choice.
I challenge the thinking that “I don’t have time” and suggest that your challenges with time is not about the time. Your challenge is with your priorities.
So instead of saying “I don’t have time,” I encourage you to say, “It’s not a priority right now.”
If you say your priority is your family and you don’t devote focused and uninterrupted time to them, are they really a priority for you?
If you say that success in business is your priority and you don’t devote the time to read books, seek out feedback, ask questions, work hard, get a mentor/coach and set goals, is success in business really a priority for you?
If you say your priority is your friends and then the entire time you are with them you spend it looking at your phone, are they really a priority for you?
What are your priorities in life? List them out.
Your head may say that your priorities are your faith, family, friends, work, health, etc.
The reality is this: Your ACTIONS will actually tell you what your priorities truly are. Right or wrong, it is what it is.
So if you were to inventory your actions from yesterday do they equal the priorities that you listed above?
If so, keep on truckin’.
If not, might a suggest that you spend more time focusing your energy and actions on your priorities.
Life is full of tradeoffs. Your priorities will change as you continue to grow and evolve – and you will have to make some tough decisions of trading this “old” priority for a new one.
Be ok with that. Endings are new beginnings.
And the end result will be a life guided by your priorities and you can be proud of that.
