Living Big by Pam Grout
In reading alot of books, there are times when you come across one that just really “speaks” to you. This is one of those books! When I stumbled across it in the book store 5-6 years ago I had no idea that the book would be a resource that I turned to often. Pam’s writing ability to “simplify” life and inspiration is a true gift and it is as if she is having a conversation with you, which makes the reading that much more intriguing. If you are truly ready to take your life to the next level, I highly recommend this book as part of your journey. And as Pam says in the book, “careful never gets you anywhere” – Live Big my friends!
Three of the main lessons that I have taken from this book are:
1. Serving humanity can take many forms, but it always involves spreading love, building people up, making children smile. When all of us embrace the responsibility of serving and giving to the world by doing our part, that is when the world begins to become a better place.
2. True peace comes from serving a purpose that is bigger than ourselves. Life is not about you and the faster you embrace that fact, the faster you will truly live your hopes and dreams.
3. On average a parent engages their children in 10 minutes of conversation per day. Stay-at-home parents engage their children on average, 15 minutes per day. Knowing that our kids make choices based off of their knowledge, experiences, and dialogues with people….it is time we invest more time with our children and talk to them about love, relationships, responsibility and such to ensure we take the responsibility of educating our children versus relying on the schools, churches, community, and other kids to do it for us.
I highly recommend that Living Big finds its way into your Success Library. It is one of the most powerful, yet inspiring books I have had the honor of reading. I believe you will find it to be a valuable resource to your growth. Happy Reading!
