The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale
This classic was written and recorded over 50 years ago and it still has such a simplicity to it that you can’t help but be inspired to make your life one that you truly desire. I tend to listen to this atleast one time per month as it continues to be one of those resources that adds more value the more you study and reflect on it – just like many things in life. As you continue to build your Success Library this should be one of the resources that is on the top of your list to obtain. I have no doubt that the timeless principles, research, and sayings in this book/recording will have a tremendous positive impact on your life – personally and professionally.
This “little” book has so many golden nuggets in it, yet here are 3 of my favorite lessons I’ve taken away from it:
1. Courage or Conformity. There is a quote by Rollo May in the book/recording that jumps out at me every time, “The opposite of courage in our society is no cowardice….it is conformity.” My take on that is that so many times in life people are not willing to be courageous enough to be themselves, go after their dreams, etc. because they have chosen that it is much easier on them to just conform to what other people and/or society wants them to be.
2. We must control our thinking. Earl reiterates it so many times in various ways to ensure that you come away with the lesson that what you think about is what you become. If you think about what’s wrong with your life, that is exactly what will keep showing up. You must take responsibility for what you are putting/allowing into your mind, as it will ultimately lead to your level of success and happiness in life.
3. Success is not the result of making money; making money is the result of success – and success is in direct proportion to our service. I have found that when you focus on your purpose and providing an outstanding service, the money shows up. Whereas when I’ve focused on the money, it doesn’t have the same kind of end result. Decide to live your passion and do it so well that people are willing to pay you for it!
I love this book/recording my friends and I can’t recommend it high enough. No matter what level of success you have had or are having, it is a classic that will add tremendous value to your life. Take the time to study The Strangest Secret and I guarantee that you will notice a difference in every aspect of your life.
