Who Moved My Cheese? (Spencer Johnson)
This #1 Best Seller delivers my friends. It is a great book about CHANGE. It takes you through various scenario’s of how the mice in this case, respond when it comes to change (moving the cheese). They are all used to having the cheese readily available and one day it is no longer there and so the book describes how the 4 characters handle things in their own way.
It is easily relatable and understandable as we all go about our way in our personal and professional lives….things in the world are changing more and more and when we are more open and committed to adapting to the changes and making the best of it, the more successful we will become.
The 3 main lessons that I took from this book are these:
1. We all handle change differently and that is ok, yet it still comes down to creating the end results for yourself and your team – so do what you need to do to become a student and a positive force when it comes to change.
2. Change is inevitable. Choose to be ahead of the game and begin to anticipate change so you are able to adapt quickly and continue to have an impact.
3. Enjoy the change. You can choose to hold onto the “old” or take with you the benefits of the “old” and move into the “new.” Learn to enjoy change as part of the evolution of your life and you will have much more success.
I highly recommend this quick and impactful read…it is a great lesson for life – personally and professionally, especially in today’s day and age where change is happening faster than ever before. Enjoy the book!
